Features

Welcome to the top of the world! This spacious 4200 square foot, three bedroom, three and a half bathroom home was designed and built on the principles of Frank Lloyd Wright’s love of light. Situated on the top of a small mountain, this 20 acre estate provides absolute privacy and is a mere 2.3 miles from charming downtown Glen Ellen. The window-lined house is South facing allowing natural light to soak every room and offering incredible views of Sonoma Mountain, Jack London State Park and Glen Ellen. The roomy sun porch includes a sauna and hot tub and can also be used as a green room for the gardener of the family. The thoughtful and sizeable kitchen recently remodeled in 2007 includes a kitchen office, pantry, double oven, double drawer dishwasher, six burner Viking range, custom hood and an expansive sitting area/family room. Conveniently placed off the kitchen is a mudroom/laundry room and two car garage with workshop. Your own personal paradise in wine country awaits you!

Neighborhood

Glen Ellen

Just off state Route 12 in Sonoma County's Valley of the Moon is the hamlet of Glen Ellen. In the surrounding countryside, old barns, fragrant eucalyptus, and ancient trees are prevalent. Nature takes center stage here thanks to the 535-acre Bouverie Preserve of Audubon Canyon Ranch.
Food writer and epicurean M.F.K. Fisher once called a ranch in Glen Ellen home, and it's easy to see why. Besides its great weather, Glen Ellen offers many ways to enjoy the bounty of the land, including the tasting room at B.R. Cohn Winery, the Fig Cafe and Wine Bar, and Wolf House Restaurant. For instant stress relief, the Magical Massage and Inspiration Gallery, housed in a 22-foot tall wine barrel -- complete with a skylight offers massage and spa treatments.
Hacienda-style estates and Italian villas, tucked behind gated drives flank anded with vineyards, overlook the slopes of Sonoma's Valley of the Moon. Olive groves and fields of lavender reflect the area’s Mediterranean climate.
Glen Ellen has a literary history as well. On the outskirts of town, Jack London State Park preserves the former home of one of the most beloved writers in the world. Glen Ellen was also briefly home to the late gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson.
